Rome is a full of amazing, antiquities statues and buildings. All around are a lots of picturesque places. Many of works of art, tombs,tunnels and works of architecture occurring in the Angels and Demons movie are really exist ! Places are not very far apart. You need just a few hours to visit the most interesting ones.
- Pantheon
Pantheon is located in historic center of Rome. In one of the oldest building of city, Robert and Vittoria start decipher the clues. Pantheon is a round temple , where were buried two Italian kings and the great Rafael Sancti. In here Professor Langdon will mark place on the map, where the first of the cardinals was executed. This place was Basilica of Santa Maria del Popolo.
- Basilica of Santa Maria del Popolo
Basilica is located on the Piazza del Popolo. On the squere are three churches and it was usin for centuries as a place for public executions. In the Basilica is located Chiga Chapel.In here is located known from the movie sculpture- one of the goal of Professor Langdon.
- The Fountain of the Four Rivers
It here Robert Langdon saves the life of the last cardinal from being drowned in the fountain. Fountain of the Four Rivers is located in the Piazza Navona and was designed especially for Pope Innocent X.Scenes from movie were only partly filmed in here because all underwater shots were filmed in a studio.
- Castel Sant’Angelo
It is a must visit place for history, military and Dan Brown enthusiastic. In the Castel Sant’Angelo were filmed some of the scenes where the kidnapper was hiding the cardinals. The castle is a cylindring building and was designed by the Roman Emperor Hadrian as a mausoleum for himself and his family. For many years was the tallest building in Rome and was used as a fortress and castle. Nowadays building is a headquaters of a museum the Museo Nazionale di Castel Sant'Angelo.
I wish to go to Rome, but now due to COVID19 I will need to change my plans.. 😐
