Tunisia is a must have place to visit for every Star Wars fan !

4 from 10 ''Star Wars'' was partially filmed in Tunisia. In here many of outside scenes was filmed . A lot of places where the scenes were shot are well preserved and open to visitors.

  • Matmata: The Lars Homestead
The Barber town of Matmata is located underground troglodyte dwellings from ''Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope''. It's here Luke was raised by his aunt and uncle. The same dwelling been appeared in the later part of  movie - "Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones." Today this place has been turned into Hotel Sidi Driss. The hotel has 20 rooms and restaurant. It's ideal place where can meet other film fanatics and  admire original props from movies.

  • Tataouine: Mos Espa Slave Quarters


  • Tatoonie is located in Sahara, around 500 km from Tunis. The Tunisian town of Tataouine inspired George Lucas' to naming of the Luke Skywalkers' home planet. The fans of Star Wars have not doubt recognize famous place from movie .Visitors can recognize Luke Skywalker's home on the planet of Tatooine.

    • Tozeur: Jedi Duel & the Star Wars Canyon
    Tozeur is a desert town with many of ''Star Wars'' locations in the area. Several scenes from the original ''Star Wars'' was shot in Sidi Bouhlel ravine. Place of the final shot of "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith '' was the vast salt pan of Chott el Djerid.In the vicinty of the Yardangs is located Mos Espa where they built much of the spaceport  for '' The Phantom Meance''.
